Bilton Barns

Brian and Dorothy Jackson have farmed Bilton Barns Farm since 1981. Bilton Barns is a 400 acre mixed farm located just outside the seaside village of Alnmouth on the Northumbrian coast.

Three-quarters of the acreage is in arable crops, wheat, oats and oilseed rape. Most crops are sown in the Autumn and harvested in August and September. There are summer grazing cattle and cattle which are also over-wintered for other farmers, chiefly hill farmers from the Rothbury area who send fattening animals from November to May
